AFAIK there is no restriction whether you are a Schengeland resident or not (unless you want a reduced prepaid ticket). There are few possibilities how to get a card, but perhaps the easiest way is to go to the central bus station in Bratislava and ask the assistant at Slovak Lines counter. You have to show your ID or passport. The photo will be taken on site. The cost of a card is € 3. If you stay in Bratislava, ask for 100+101 zones, it allows you to use trains and suburban buses within the territory of Bratislava too.
I'm a non schengen citizen, plan to stay here for 1 month, is it possible for me to buy a prepaid ticket for 30 days. If possible, how can I get/buy the personal contactless chipcard to buy the prepaid ticket. Thanks in advanced !

I need to buy a prepaid ticket for traveling from malacky to the centre of bratislava but I'm not sure which one, is it BA 100+101 + 5 regional? I can't figure out these zones 😕
Reply on: friema #52:
OK, customer centre should be open at that time 🙂 I recommend you to buy tickets for both journey at the same time, so you save yourself hassle of buying tickets on return journey. Alternatively you can purchase tickets for your return journey at red ticket machines in arrival terminal at the airport.

I'd recommend to use group ticket for 20 people (16,20 euros) for each journey. You should be able to buy it at DPB customer centre at Hlavna stanica (follow signs to tram stop, then turn right just before the escalators - it will be on your left side). What time will you arrive?
what is the best (cheapest)ticket for 20 person from bratislava hl st to letisko airport and
back a few days(5) later.thank you

Over 70. You must be from any EU country and you need just ID or passport.
The free travel is over 70 years or 65 years? Do you need to show any card or special ticket?
Reply on: bakan #46:
Hi,
basically, there is no ticket (doesn´t matter if 7 day, or 15 minutes) with baggage fee included. You will have to buy (and mark) also another ticket for that. But only in case when you have really big baggage like 3 sea chests ? If you have just one luggage of normal size (let´s say 90x60x40cm), you will be fine even with that one, 7 day ticket
hello :
I going to Bratislava for a week. I see I can get a 7 day tourist ticket and my question is :
If take a bus from airport , do I have to also pay for a fee baggage or it is included in a 7 day tourist ticket?
thanks
Reply on: bukinist #44:
Yes, you are right. It is free for all EU citizens. In EU countries the conditions have to be the same for all EU-citizens.
I would like to ask someone, that the free travel over 70 years, is applies only for Slovak citizen in Bratislava ?, Because in Prague, it is valid for every EU citizen.
Reply on: shyam_banerjee #42:
No, there is no such ticket.

Hi,
I would like to know whether there is any ticket available for 15 days ?

I shall be staying out for around 20 days out of Bratislava and hence not willing to buy the whole month ticket.

Regards,
Harsha.
Reply on: wildren #40:
Unfortunately, there is no other option (yet), you need to buy ticket to Cierna voda every time you travel. This should change later but it may take some time (couple of months at best).
Hello,

I'm interested on buying a regular ticket to travel from Cierna Voda to Trnavske Myto, but I'm not sure if is there some ticket option available rather than buying single tickets every time. Could you please confirm if there is some option like this? If not, I guess I have to pay for a ticket everytime just to travel 2 stops (with Bus 630 to Vajnory) and then have a monthly ticket to move around Bratislava, isn't it?

Thank you.

Sorry, I was read, that you will travel from Vienna, not to Vienna.

So, you can buy "Wien Ticket + Z 100" - it is return train ticket Bratislava - Vienna with day ticket in Vienna (whole VOR Zone 100).
Price: 17,80 € for adult and 8,90 for children from 6 - 15 years. This is special price, so no group ticket with better price is avaible.

Also, it is possible travel by bus with Blaguss company and buy Day Tickets in Vienna.

Hi

I want to travel from Bratislava to Vienna, family of 4, 2 adults + 2 children, for a day trip in early December. What is the best ticket to get €€ pricewise ? Age restrictions on ticket for children?

Thanks

You can't use your online ticket for public transportation in Bratislava. You will need to pay full fare.
I have online ticket to bratislava from wien (slovak lines - 7,7 euro - 26.6.2014).
Do I have permit to get a public transport in Bratislava on 26.6.2014?
If no, where can I buy a ticket (surcharge 1euro for all day ticket)?

I would recommend you to get off the train at Devinska Nova Ves (first station in Slovakia) and take bus 28 to stop "Devin". Castle is short walk from there. You ticket will be valid on the bus (but only on the first day of validity) as both Devinska Nova Ves and Devin are part of Bratislava.

Bus departs from this stop: http://goo.gl/maps/gJloN

Have a nice trip!

Hello,
I want to visit Devín Castle by train from Vienna what bus number should I take from the train station? Does this trip included with the ÖBB ticket vienna-bratislava

Yes, but remember that on public transportation in Bratislava it's valid only on first day of validity. Have a nice trip 🙂

Hello,
I am going to travel by train from Vienna to Bratislava with a Bratislava Ticket from ÖBB, which includes free public transportation in Bratislava. My question is: can i use it to get to the Airport in Bratislava?
Greetings,
Daniel

Internet - https://eshop.dopravnakarta.sk/DPB/

Or you can use shops a machines mentioned here - http://imhd.sk/ba/doc/en/10221/Ticket-shops.html

Or you can buy ticket at all train stations in same manner as train ticket.
Hello,

I live in Bratislava and use a 3 month pass, however, when it expires, do I have to go to the ticket office to have it recharged? Is there no service to do this online or at the automatic ticket machine?

It really is an inconvenience as I have to go to Hlavna Stanica once every three months when I have no reason to go there!

Your help is appreciated!

Best,
Nikhil

If you take train from Vienna to Bratislava, your train ticket should include use of public transportation in Bratislava on first day of its validity (unless you use InterRail, Eurail or similiar product). Ask for detail at ticjet counter in Vienna when buying your ticket to Bratislava.
I wanna visit Vienna from Bratislava in one day, what kind of ticket did you recomend to buy? Thanks.

It's valid for both city zones but only on services operated by Dopravny podnik Bratislava (that means on buses, trolleybuses and trams numbered between 1 and 212 + 630, 801 + N21-N99). It's not valid on suburban buses and trains.
Hello, I'd like to ask if the tourist ticket for 24 hours is valid for Bratislava zone 101 or just zone 100?
Reply on: moerbecke #18:
Ticket inspector generally ignore blind people so chance of them having tickets checked is really low. However, officially you need Slovak "ŤZP" card - I'm not sure if these can be obtained by foreigners, anyway, even if it's possible, it will not be easy process.
Are there any discounts for blind people from abroad? What document should i have?
Reply on: robschneider #16:
Yes, all prepaid tickets are valid for night lines.
Is the one year ticket (365 days) also valid for night lines?
Reply on: Tuan #14:
To get student discont you need to be Slovak citizen or study at Slovak school. So unfortunatelly, you will have to pay full fare.
Hello!
I am a student coming to Bratislava for a longer period of time this summer and was wondering whether I could buy the reduced fare monthly ticket, if I am not a student of a Slovakian university. I do have an ISIC card and can provide proof of student status abroad. If I am eligible for this sort of ticket, what documents would I need to get the dicount?

Thank you!
Reply on: eliseperle90 #12:
You can't buy ticket in the bus. There are two options for you:
- yellow ticket machines directly on bus platform (coins only)
- red ticket machines in arrivals (coins and notes) -http://imhd.sk/ba/galeria-media/galerie-gt-vyhladavanie.html?&ghp=samoobsluzne&ghg=#95347-Multifunkcny-samoobsluzny-automat

If you choose red machine, choose option to buy paper ticket. You'll get this screen: http://i45.tinypic.com/2eq485c.jpg - press button with price 0,90 EUR as many times as many tickets you need.

In yellow ticket machine, choose one hour ticket for 90 cents.

Have a nice (though probably short 🙂 ) stay in Bratislava!
Hei, If I am arriving to Bratislava airport and want to travel by bus to train station (bus nr 61) where can I buy a ticket, can I get it from bus, or where is the nearest ticket shop? Thank you in advance!
Reply on: rammy #10:
No, there is special fare for international services - it's 1,50 EUR (one-way) and can be paid at bus, unlike other services (where you need to buy ticket in advance).

Regaring your other question, your parents will need to pay full fare on services within Bratislava as free travel for seniors is limited to citizens and residents of Slovakia. They would however get 50% discount on international services (based on passport or other official ID) if they are EU citizens.
Are normal 60/90 minute tickets usable on the 901 service from Most to Hainburg an der Donau?
Thanks, Dave
My parents are visiting Bratislava for a few days - they are both over 70. Do they need to purchase tickets for the bus or are they free because they are over 70? If they are free, do they need a special permit or will their passports serve as i.d.? Many thanks, Dave
However, you will need to carry photo ID for the oldest kid - it must include photo and date of birth.

No, you can use only 3-day ticket for each member of your family. It costs 10€ per person, but you cant buy reduced fare 3-day ticket. I think that if you dont plan to travel whole 3 days, buy 3-day ticket for you and reduced-fare single tickets for your children for every ride. During weekends, 60-minute ticket is valid 90 minutes and it is transferable. All your children can use reduced-fare tickets.
Is there any family ticket for 3 days in Bratislava (kids are 6, 8 and 13 years old)?
Thanks

7-day ticket can be purchased only in ticket machine at the bus (or tram) stops or at the ticket shops.
Hello,
we arrived in outer Bratislava today and will stay for a week. When we go into town for the first time tomorrow, can we get a 7-day ticket right on the bus or do we have to go into town first to buy it at a ticket shop?
Thanks a lot for helping

Tariff zones 620 and 630 are not included in the Integrated transport. You have to use 15- or 60-min. ticket in these zones.
Can I use a pre-paid "1st + 2nd tariff zone + Bratislava Integrated Transport" pass to go to Chorvátsky Grob, Žilinská from Karpatská? Please let me know. Cheers.
Does the INTERGRATED TRANSPORT include outlying routes 630 & 620 to Čierna voda? I don't want to get a fine when I'm paying for tickets. Your "bus/tram cops" are ruthless!
