How to get to Devín Castle by public transport

Many tourists would like to visit Devín and its Castle towering above junction of Danube and Morava rivers. Two bus lines operate towards Devín.

Route 29 operates directly between downtown (from Most SNP bus terminal under the bridge) and Devín castle (terminus Hrad Devín). Do not worry where to get off - at the terminus directly under the castle.

Otherwise you can use route 28 which operates between Eurovea center (Nové SND terminus) and Devínska Nová Ves (Opletalova terminus) through Danube embankment, Botanic garden and Devín. The route 28 serves the stop Most SNP (close to downtonw) on the main road, not at the terminal as other lines. However, this route does not serve the stop "Hrad Devín" (Castle Devín) under the Castle. The best stop to get off is the stop Devín which lies at the end of Devín, beyond the cemetery. From the stop Devín you can reach the Devín castle in 7 minutes on foot via walkway behind the cemetery.

Note: You have to purchase tickets in advance from ticket machines or at the transport company offices. The bus driver does not sell the tickets!
