Animals on the Transport

Commuting with animals small in size is allowed on public transit. It is required to keep the animal in a box or a cage with a solid bottom size. The animal must not make other passengers less comfortable while commuting.

The only animal whose transport is allowed with no cage is a dog, which must be leashed on a short lead and has to have a nosebandon, and only with the driver's consent. This does not apply to a guide dog for visually impaired passengers. The dog must not make other passengers less comfortable while commuting, otherwise, the driver may ask the passenger with the dog to leave the vehicle.

Passengers with dogs may only board and alight using doors marked with a respective symbol. Every vehicle has one or two seats designated for visually impaired passengers with a guide dog, which are located directly behind the driver's cab.

Transporting a single animal on the public transport in Nitra is free of charge.
