Public transport in Trnava will be a more attractive alternative to individual car transport.
From 31 July 2023 there will be several changes in Trnava public transport. The biggest change is an increase in the number of connections on individual routes and the introduction of regular timetabled services with departures at easy-to-remember times. The changes will affect the line management only minimally, as the city states, it is not a revolutionary change, but only an evolution of the current system.
The routes of most lines will remain unchanged, with the following exceptions:
- route 1 will be shortened to the Linčianska stop, it will not go to Strojárenská,
- routes 4 and 5 can be used as a substitute; at the other end, the route will go to the Letisko (Airport) stop, so it will no longer go to Veľký Dvor;
- route 2 will have an extended route of some connections to the Kočišské, where it will replace route 13;
- routes 2 and 4 will also call at the Železničná stanica (Railway Station) stop;
- route 4 will be extended to the terminus Strojárenská, BOGE instead of route 5;
- route 5 will be truncated to the Strojárenská, SACHS stop;
- route 13 will be cancelled, as a substitute it will be possible to use routes 2 and 14 with one change at the Zelený kríčok/Šrobárova junction.
Bus departures will be primarily set to follow the departures and arrivals of trains at the Trnava railway station and at the same time to make it possible to change between routes without long waiting times.
Each city district will have a direct connection to the railway station (stops Železničná stanica or Dohnányho), most parts of the city should also be reachable by a one-change connection. The transfer nodes are to be in particular the Železničná stanica, Hospodárska and Zelený kríčok/Šrobárova nodes. The departures of the routes will be interchanged (evenly spaced departures) in sections:
- Linčianska - centre: routes 1 2 4 5 12
- Kopánka - centre: routes 3 4
- Prednádražie - centre: routes 3 5 16
